The Finnish Mutual Insurance Company for Pharmaceutical Injury Indemnities is an insurance company founded by the Finnish Co-operative for Pharmaceutical Injury Indemnities that provides pharmaceutical injury insurance to protect medicine-users. The purpose of the pharmaceutical injury insurance is to indemnify against the adverse effects that are unexpected in the therapeutic situation and caused to the users by pharmaceuticals complying with the Medicines Act and distributed for consumption, as well as against the injuries caused by medicines in clinical trials in Finland.
The Finnish Mutual Insurance Company for Pharmaceutical Injury Indemnities began operation on 1 January 2012.
Members of the Finnish Co-operative for Pharmaceutical Injury Indemnities are Finland-based pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, marketers, and research companies. Established in 1984, the co-operative now has apr. 150 members.
